I have owned my Soar 14 for about 7 years and love it but the seats that I purchased with it from Crazy Creek Products are very uncomfortable. I now have some back issues and was wondering if anyone can recommend a new seat design that has proven to be more appropriate for those of us with back problems?

Haven't been on this site for a while, so this post is pretty old, but if you're still looking....

I just went out and bought some standard fishing boat seats, took the cushions off them, and mounted 1/2" carriage head bolts through the top of the plastic at the correct locations to go through the grommet strip, then reinstalled the cushions.  Now all I do is set the seat on the grommet strip and put 4 flat washers and nuts on the bottom of the grommet strip and I'm done.  Fast, easy and very nice to sit in.  Big water, I just slide forward and anchor my knees into the bottom of the boat same as I always did.  You sit about 2-3" higher than on the little plywood seats, so on rough water it does make the boat just slightly less stable, but not really that much.

Good idea with the padded boat seat bolted onto the grommets.
I use a bigger piece of plywood which spans the tubes and is tied into the grommets like the original SOAR seats.  being wider and up on the tubes gives it a higher view over my wife's head up in front of me and the seat is a lot more stable.   I put a loaded boat pack behind the seat for a little back support.   The seat can also come out and double as a small table or even a cutting board for those big salmon.    only problem I've had with it is when a porcupine climbed on the boat at night and ate part of the plywood!
