(Larry, feel free to use the first half of this and the attached photo in your “CUSTOMER PHOTO GALLERY & TESTIMONIALS” page; edit however you like.) Here’s just one reason I love my SOARs. Last weekend I took my 6 year old nephew down the American River around Sacramento, CA and he loved going through Arden Rapids (N 38.58833 W 121.32906). This is rated a Class II rapid but it’s so easy in my SOAR 14. How easy? The kid rode the whole way down – about 100 yards – with his face hanging off the bow deck; I never worried for a second. In fact, I started aiming for waves which produced ear-to-ear smiles and joyful shrieks. At the end of the rapids is a large rock that boaters of all types play on and around. The attached photo shows me introducing him to the concept of eddies and how you can paddle upstream as well as how to pull into an eddy then out into the current, swing around and do it all over again – easily 15 minutes of fun for both of us. I went down this same stretch 2 years ago in a good hard-shell canoe, and I assure you the kid would have been stuck in the middle of the boat, and I would not have been so calm, and we definitely would not have played in the eddy. Larry, thanks for creating a great product that makes memories like this possible. ______________________ For more info about this lazy (flow = 2mph) stretch of river go to… http://cacreeks.com/amer-low.htm http://brt-insights.blogspot.com/2007/06/american-river-lower-run.html USGS Water Flow http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ca/nwis/uv/?site_no=11446500&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060 Attached Images:
